Guo Hongwei is a contemporary artist based in Beijing. He was born in 1982 and graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2004. After graduation, Guo did not follow the traditional route of academic painting. He turned to discover a new creation mode which is based on his childhood memories. Usually,he takes inspiration from old photographs. He is known primarily for his watercolor series.
